What is Emotional Intelligence

Learn the core competencies of emotional intelligence and how to apply them.  Discover the role of the amygdala and part of the brain plays in how we respond to our emotions.  Learn simple doable stress reduction techniques. 

Self Awareness at Work

Self-awareness is the foundational competency of emotional intelligence.  Learn the importance of developing a practice of self-inquiry regarding personal and professional interactions.  Discover the relationship between stillness and introspective insights at work. Practice mindful stress reduction through breathing and grounding exercises that can be done on work breaks.

Self-Management at Work

Examine the role of the amygdala, hormones and personal history play in our emotional responses. Practice using "Yogi's Social Inventory" to review part emotional responses.  Practice mindful stress reduction techniques.

Empathy at Work

Examine the importance of sensing other's feelings and perspectives to effective communications.  Explore the relationship between high levels of self-awareness and empathy. Practice empathy building exercises.

Getting Off the Hook: Yogi's Social Conflict Inventory

A favorite of participants! In this workshop participants examine The Disturbance, The Hook, The Body, and The Behavior of past situations that caused emotional upset to locate emotional patterns of response.  This revealing exercise encourages self-awareness and "self-interrogation" to begin to take full responsibility for our emotional responses and behavior.

Emotional Awareness starts with attunement to the stream of feeling that is a constant presence in all of us and with a recognition of how these emotions shape what we perceive, think, and do.

The following eight-week series, Personal Power and Responsibility, is a very positive, highly interactive, strength-based approach to capacity-building. Participants in each of the individual or group sessions will learn real life tools for uplifting their lives, including understanding social class and their individual and collective power to make real changes in life.
